Carolyn Byrd is the owner and lead therapist at Integrative Equine Bodywork. With over 18 years of experience with soft tissue manual therapy, and 6 years dedicated to equine bodywork, Carolyn brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to her practice. Her journey into the equine bodywork space began when she saw a need for a more dynamic approach to bodywork that address deeper held postural and movement patterns which can affect overall wellbeing and performance.

With her education, background, and experience in development psychobiology, medical massage and bodywork, alignment based yoga, rehabilitative exercise planning, and health coaching centered around GI microbiome and hormone restoration Carolyn had a unique and holistic perspective as she transitioned her work and focus to horses. Evidence based education is important and Carolyn has been fortunate to receive training through various courses at The Equinology Institute and continues her studies at Zenma Wellness.

Carolyn's experience spans a wide range of disciplines, breeds, and life stages. She has worked with a wide range of  horses from retired well-loved pets, pleasure horses, amateur mounts, all the way to top tier competitors and professionals. She has treated horses at local and international levels, providing care that improves performance, aids in recovery, and enhances overall well-being. Her extensive background and dedication to continuous learning ensure that each horse receives top-notch care.
